A journey through the most important events of great appeal that mark the seasons in Agropoli and in the territory of the Cilento.

Agropoli - Sports City

All events of 2024
For the year 2024, Agropoli confirms its status as the Sports Capital. From spring until the end of autumn, the town will host numerous sports competitions and events.

These will range from youth tournaments to senior competitions, including indoor events and even some held at sea.

Here is the initial schedule of confirmed events (continuously updated):

  • March 26th to 30th: International Youth Soccer Tournament at Guariglia Stadium
  • April 7th: The classic Agropoli Half Marathon, a landmark event in the Italian road running championship
  • April 13th and 14th: Angelo Pappalardo Memorial, a National OVER-level tournament at Torre Stadium
  • April 12th to 14th: Optimist Trophy Italy organized by the Italian Sailing Federation at the Port of Agropoli
  • May 24th to 26th and June 14th to 16th: GIVOVA Experience, youth soccer at Guariglia Stadium
  • May 15th to 26th: NATIONAL Under 17 Basketball Finals at Pala di Concilio
  • May 24th to 26th: Salerno ART OPEN, a sports dance competition at PalaGreen
  • June 7th to 9th: ANT WORLD CUP, a national-level soccer competition
  • June 22nd: Rhythmic Gymnastics competition at Pala di Concilio

Events at the castle of Agropoli

Open every day during the summer, the Angevin-Aragonese Castle of Agropoli is one of the symbols of the city. Here we can admire temporary exhibitions and theatrical performances. Moreover, wide-ranging events that welcome many artists, such as the cultural September are scheduled every year.

Concerts and shows in the archaeological area of Paestum

The Clouds Arena in Paestum is the stage under the stars ready to liven up during the summer. The temples of the ancient city of Magna Grecia are the backdrop to the concerts and events scheduled during July and August.

Festa nel Bosco

The village of Perito, about 16 km from Agropoli, hosts one of the historical festivals of the Cilento area. An authentic festival held in the fantastic scenery of a chestnut forest during the first and second week of August.

Mojoca

The International Festival of Street Artists is held every year in early August in the village of Moio della Civitella, about 37 km from Agropoli. Streets, squares, small locations become the outdoor stage of many artists ready to perform with music, acrobatics, circus performances, all kinds of performances.

Festival of the Ancient cilentan pizza

Celebration and homage to one of the symbols of the poor Cilento cuisine. The Festival is held every year in Giungano at the beginning of August. An event created to promote and raise awareness of the Cilento pizza and its entire chain.

Festival of bread and peasant civilization

At the end of July, the historic center of the village of Trentinara, about 21 km from Agropoli, is the backdrop to an event dedicated to the best local products. Among these stand out the bread and the traditional Vicci and vescuotti of Trentinara, bakery products of excellence.

Festival of the Aspide

Close to August 15th, the village of Roccadaspide, about 31 km from Agropoli, hosts a festival dedicated to music, art and taste. Musical bands, street artists, taverns with products of the Mediterranean Diet along a path of almost 2 kilometres.
